Suffolk Contract Bridge Association
SUFFOLK’S BIGGEST EVENT?

With 144 players, Café Bridge in Bury St Edmunds on Thursday attracted one of the biggest entries ever for a bridge event staged in Suffolk.

The popular format involved the 72 pairs playing eight three-board rounds in a selection of a dozen cafés and restaurants in the town centre, with scoring done via an a mobile phone app - and lunch taken at half time.

Café Bridge started in this country in south west London and made its debut in Bury St Edmunds only 12 months ago, organised brilliantly by Derek Brinkley.

And the winners were Dorothy and Alaric Cundy, photographed below with their prizes presented by Victor Lesk (left), the brains behind the Café Bridge concept.

MISSING BUT PRESUMED VERY MUCH ALIVE!
MISSING BUT PRESUMED VERY MUCH ALIVE!

Are you one of Suffolk's 'missing' players who is consistently left in the dark about bridge events and news in the county?

Up tp 200 out of the county's 1,000 members who are affiliated to the English Bridge Union could be affected because inaccurate personal information, such as an email address, is held about them on the EBU database - or simply does not exist. If you are one of the 'missing', you will not be receiving information from the EBU or, perhaps more importantly, from Suffolk Bridge.

The good news is that it is reasonably easy to check - and correct errors via your EBU page. Everyone has an EBU page, although many players probably are unaware of it.

Go the EBU website - www.ebu.co.uk - and click on the My EBU tab at the top of the main page. Type in your EBU number and password.

If you have forgotten your password or never had one, click on the 'forgotten password' link which will take you to the Members Area Password page. Follow the instructions which should enable you to log in to the EBU page.

Go to Account and My Details in the right hand corner and, hey presto, you will have found your EBU page, where you can, if necessary, make  changes (don't forget to Save them) - and thereby rejoin the local bridge world!

* If you do update your email address, or any other details, Jill Tattersfield, the new membership secretary, would very much appreciate it if you could let her know. Click on JILL to email her.
