How you can help local old people who are isolated during the pandemic
Sue Varian, wife of Nigel - the club's inveterate Redoubler - is fund raising for her plan to bring images of the countryside and nature into Care Homes and Hospices in our region through her coffee table book “A New Dawn”.
Her aim is to raise £10,000 to cover the print and distribution cost of 1000 copies of “A New Dawn”, 500 of which will be given free to Cambridgeshire and Suffolk care homes and hospices, and 500 will be offered for sale.
The income from the sales of books at £15 a copy will be donated to 3 charities, Addenbrookes and West Suffolk Hospitals NHS charities and The Friends of the Newmarket Day Centre charity
The book carries an enthusiastic Foreward by Clare Balding who said “... this is a book that brings hope and that encapsulates all that is precious in the outside world, reminding us of the glory of the skies, the wildflowers, ..."
