The 6th Zeb Stocken bridge weekend at Stansfield
Saturday 10 October and Sunday 11 October
in Stansfield village hall - 10am start
A weekend of top-class bridge tuition and play combined with excellent food and wine is on offer this autumn in Stansfield.
The 6th Zeb Stocken bridge weekend will take place in Stansfield village hall on October 10 and 11 and it promises to be a cracker as participants will have the chance to savour the culinary delights of Louise Mackrill, the gifted local caterer, in addition to improving their bridge with Zeb.
For the few who do not know Zeb, he is a charismatic teacher who helped Andrew Robson set up his famed bridge school in London. Louise, who lives nearby at Assington Green, has been delighting discerning diners for years with imaginative use of local and seasonal produce.
The weekend will follow the successful format of recent renewals with Saturday devoted to bidding and play techniques pertinent to beginners and improvers - but also useful as a re-cap for more experienced players - while Sunday will offer duplicate players an insight into more advanced techniques. THIS IS A WEEKEND NOT TO MISS!
The programme will be:
Saturday am: Opening/Responding with 6+ card suits
Saturday pm: Tricky Card Combinations
Sunday am: Negative Doubles (new)
Sunday pm: Principle of Restricted Choice and Vacant Spaces
Louise will be providing a seasonal two course buffet lunch on Saturday and a delicious Sunday roast - all accompanied by fine wines.
The cost of each day, including lunch and wine, is £65.
There is a non-refundable deposit, payable on any booking, of £25 made payable to Richard Evans - Old Village Hall, Lower Street, Stansfield, Suffolk. CO10 8LP. If you have any questions, contact Richard on 01284 789546 or e: richardevans53@me.com
