| Bridge and Golf Day 2026 |
|
A Good time was had by all at the recent Bridge Golf Day held at Newton Green Golf Club on Monday 27th April. Fantastic weather, and quote " The Best Fish and Chips for a Long Time" This was the 5th time the club has run the day and thanks must go to Richard Langridge for organising the whole thing once again, and to Dave Allen who acted as course director.
Plenty of prizes were on offer, but Overall Winners prize went to Salome Smit and Jackie Over who won Bridge by a large margin and achieved the best combined score.
Second overall were Andy Higginson and Duncan Smith (who also came top in the Golf)
Nobody is allowed two prizes so the separate sports awards were as follows:-
The " Bridge Prize" which went to Tim Evans and Chris Park ( second in Bridge)
The Golf Prize went to Nick Farr and Martyn Pacey ( second in Golf)
Organisers special award went to Fleur Talbot for style and being left handed.

| NIBBLES! |
As I am sure you are aware one of our unique features at this very friendly club is our delightful social break in Bridge on a Thursday Evening, when we can enjoy a glass of wine or beer, and a delicious selection of nibbles produced by our members. We have a nibbles rota on which people can sign up , this is physically kept in the village hall and is available for sign up every club session. We have decided to add this information to the calendar in the website, so if you aren't sure when you have promised to do the nibbles you can check on there.! Of course if people change their dates or swap with others it will be incorrect, so please bear that in mind , you can always drop Wendie an e mail if that happens - e mail address in the committee list.. By the way the cost of doing the nibbles is now reimbursed at a flat rate of £30, to reflect the ever increasing cost of food. If you havent done them for a while do have a look at the list next time you are at the club, there are always gaps to be filled.
