EMILY & GERRY’S BRIDGE LUNCH 21st MAY

The Bridge Lunch on Wednesday was a very happy afternoon.  We had 39 people sitting down for lunch, which was delicious

.Confit of duck followed by meringues and raspberries. Richard L did the usual behind the bar and had plenty of customers!  We had two tables with people from learn and play playing Chicago - and we were delighted that they joined us.  Jackie directed and Mickie was the scorer.  Once again a great day.

Big thanks to Emily and Gerry who came up trumps once again.

Results in the usual place.

2025 BRIDGE GOLF DAY

The annual bridge-golf day staged by the club on Monday at Newton Green golf club was blessed with some outstanding weather - and an equally impressive performance by the winners.

Thanks to a scoring system devised by some clever soul, the event enables players’ golfing scores to be converted into a percentage which is added to the bridge score - and, hey presto, a winner.

The latest renewal saw Paul MacLachlan and Dave Allen record an impressive 43 Stapleford points in the morning golf - which converted to 60% - and they did even better in the bridge, scoring 63%. The rest, as they say, were nowhere!

This was the fourth running of the event and, arguably, the best. The course was in outstanding condition; a new chef at the golf club resulted in an excellent fish and chip lunch, and the gorgeous weather lifted everyone’s spirits.

A huge thank you to Richard Langridge, the club’s official barman, who organised the day with aplomb.

BELL TROPHY SUNDAY 13th APRIL

The Bell Trophy is the unofficial club Trophy and we are please to report that this year a new pairing - Mike and Kathy - were victorious and are now the proud holders of the unique trophy - Congratulations!. Second overall were Jane and Susan and second in the handicap were Lesley and Carolyn.

Thank you to Pauline for organising, Jackie for directing, Peter for scoring and Richard, our President, for presenting all the prizes and the trophy. Well done to all of those on the podium and thanks to all who took part in a very good fun afternoon of bridge.. See all the results HERE
