Midlands No Fear 9-High Online Swiss Teams Saturday, 25th September 2021 2 p.m. Start £8.00 per team entry fee - to be paid for by S&SCBA

Following the success of, and feedback from, the recent Swiss Teams series, the Midlands Counties have decided to run another online series over winter.

The next event, on 25th September, will be 9-High. Once again, the event will be run on RealBridge, giving you the opportunity of seeing and talking with your partner and opponents and there will be pair, team and also county rankings.

This is the second series of events run by the Midlands Counties to widen the opportunities for representing their county to players of all standards. Following favourable feedback from the last series, the game is hosted on RealBridge.

We have given consideration to our desire to provide representative opportunities to as wide a range of players as possible. We plan to run two NGS-9-High events and two NGS-6-high ones.

For this event partnerships with an NGS of 9 or below at the time of entry are eligible (so an 8 and a 10 is fine. However, to check, please look up your and your partner’s %age grade, add them together and make sure they don’t come to more than 106 see https://www.ebu.co.uk/ngs/STA.). This restriction will again ensure that everyone has a comfortable game (which is also a feature of Swiss competitions). Please consider making up a foursome and coming along (if you need help with team-mates please just ask Paul Cutler or someone else, or if Swiss Teams is new to you ask Paul or someone else in the know). County rankings will be decided on the basis of each county’s three best team scores.

The competition will consist of around 25 boards, starting at 14.00 hrs on Saturday 25th September 2021.
