Some changes in the EBU announcing/alerting September 2022. David drew up a summary of the 2022 changes for directors.
1st stage: In 2024 any pair that gets 55% or over in a club game between 4th Feb and 17th Feb will be entitled to play in the Regional Finals on 24th March. All club games that award full rate master points (those of 18 boards or more that are submitted by clubs under Code 10 or Code 12) will count and the clubs do not need to do anything special (except submitting results promptly) if the game is played and submitted, players who get over 55% will automatically qualify.

Some events at the showground make it difficult to park just outside the club. By clicking here you will see the scheduled list of events. If you would have a problem walking, say 300 yards, beware of the popular dog shows (usually not a problem after 5 p.m.) and events that indicate "entire showground" when it might be wise to organise a chauffeur to drop you at the bridge club door! Allowing a little extra time to reach the club when an event is on will not go amiss. A very few events mean that bridge actually has to be cancelled, eg the County Show, there should be a clear notice on the home page when that happens.

If you know of any member of the club who is unwell please let either Pat Martin or a member of the committee know so that appropriate wishes can be sent on behalf of all members. The quickest response will be to tell either Pat Martin or any member of the committee at the bridge session then a card can be signed & posted immediately.
