What we don’t get as a club
BCL are not creating multiple individual isolated on line rooms restricted to particular clubs members playing a full movement all playing the same boards.
What we do get
We can participate in a wide choice of full movement tournaments where we would be playing against any of the other members of BCL, or we could be playing in the Social room where you have some control over who you play against, and could just play with and against Stafford Bridge Club members if we so desired. But as 96 boards are available to play and I don’t think you can select which of these to play if we held a competition it would be impossible to include any sort of movement and to ensure that we all play the same boards.
How can I start a table just for members of my local club?
If you have already arranged a foursome then before sitting at a table press the alias of the person you are going to play with & one of your two opponents should also do likewise for their partner.
Then take a seat and the seat opposite will be reserved for your partner, and if one of your opponents quickly takes their seat then no one else will be able to sit at your table.
BUT
If your partner and your arranged opponents haven’t arrived and you’ve sat at a table and two other people sit at your table then your reservation for your partner will only last for 60 seconds. Suggest that you then press Leave Table and move to another unoccupied table.
Invite a player to play
Make sure you are not in the lobby, but in the bridge room where you want to play, when you are inviting a player. Press the blue alias of the player you want to invite & their profile shows in the right hand side column on screen. Press, “invite to play” in the profile & this person can either decline or accept the invitation. If they accept they will have up to 120 seconds to join your table.
