Bidding suggested by Robin, optimums suggested by BOS which has the advantage of knowing where the cards are!

Board 13

	A grand slam was possible on this hand in NT, Spades and clubs according to Bridge Organising Software (BOS) used to deal the cards. Bidding is suggested by Robin but not all pupils may have met the 4♥ and 5♦ cue bids showing first round controls?

Board 14

	3NT possible on this deal according to BOS, Robin suggests 4♠ better. Why not get out a pack of cards and see if either contract can be defeated?

Board 15

	4♥ the best contract and even 5♥ can make if declarer is North despite West holding 4 cards in hearts. One table investigated a slam on this hand so the contract ended up as 5♥ which made..

Board 16

	BOS suggests 3NT, Robin suggests 4♥. Can you find a way to defeat 4♥?

Hand 17

	9 tricks possible in spades and only 8 in NT according to BOS. Plenty of points for game but good defence got 3NT down at one table another table made overtricks. An old saying "always return your partner's lead" appicable here.

Hand 18

	Another hand with a possible slam provided the critical cards are in the right places according to BOS!!! Robin's bidding advice much more sensible to get to a makeable contract.
