Dates for your Diary

31st October - Andrew Robson Seminar at Stone

Partners for afternoon sessions

Should you require a partner for either Monday or Wednesday afternoon please seek Sam`s assistance by phone, 01785 818682, mobile 07931702776, text or email.

How can you help?

It would be much appreciated if everyone could help in small ways at the start (getting scorecards etc out) and at the end of sessions (loading the dishwasher, checking the windows are closed and the room is tidy) don't leave the director to do everything!

Presently volunteers are requested to act as stand bys on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, please contact Terry if you are willing to do either of these dates.  Presently the Tuesday host system has had to be suspended due to lack of volunteers.

If you would like to try your hand at scoring or directing please contact Terry Maltby or Michael Metcalf, more volunteers for these duties are always needed.

Please Arrive 15 minutes before play

At all club sessions please arrive at least 15 minutes before play is due to start, 6:45 for 7 p.m. start, 7 for 7:15 start, 1:15 for 1:30 start. If you are running late please ring the club, 01785 246611, to let the scorer know you are on your way so that they can factor you in when setting up the movement and scoring systems.

Bill Hughes Sim Pairs - Tuesday 25th June, 7 for 7:15 p.m.

New captain, Terry, is promoting more competitions at the club, particularly Sim Pairs. This competition started as a small Simultaneous pairs between three Merseyside clubs.
It has grown a lot, but it tries to be the cheapest international Simultaneous Pairs, despite giving out 50% of the entry as prizes and trophies. Any profit goes to the Merseyside Bridge Club & School, but there is very little.

Subs due April 1st.

Pat Martin, the membership secretary,  came to the sessions at club from Monday April 1st to collect 2019/20 subs of £12.50.  If you have not already done so please complete your membership form and sign it (not forgetting to check that the personal information is correct and to tick the boxes regarding having read the club constitution, Best Behaviour at BridgeClub's Privacy Policy - for good measure please also read the proposed new club constitution) before handing over your fees. Pat's hope to have a debit card reader up and running has not worked out, poor internet connection, so still cash or cheques this year.

Bridgewebs added a feature a few years ago whereby you can advertise for a partner from the members page.  This feature has been little used but it has been suggested without a host on a Tuesday more use could be made of this facility,  Committee members will be setting an example by giving it a go.  When somone is looking for a partner you will see on the bottom right of the home page calendar entry you will see "Partner?" on the information regarding the session when a member is looking for a partner, click on that and you will find contact details of the one looking for a partner.  See also the events calendar page.

If you have trouble accessing the members only area email

Tickets will be available from Kath Adams but as yet the programme has to be finalised.

SSCBA League and Cup 2018/19 season.

One Stafford player in the team who ended the season at the top of division 1 in the SSCBA County league.  In fact the winning team were pretty much the same as the winning Shelley 2018/19 team, just one change.  Congratulations to Geoff, Paul, Roger and David.
