| Thursday & Friday Morning Lessons, 9:45 for 10 a.m. |
- Robin's intermediate lessons: Thursday morning lesson on 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays, on 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month this will will normally be played as a duplicate session watch the calendar and/or this space for any changes
- 1st Thursday - lesson
- 2nd Thursday - Duplicate
- 3rd Thursday - lesson
- 4th Thursday - Duplicate
- 5th Thursday - lesson
- Terry's improver lessons: Every Friday morning.
Robin and Terry will cover these lessons between them with Dave Nelson covering in their absence. If you wish to attend these lessons - please contact Robin or Terry.
Robin has produced plenty of material for the website, including one on Splinter bids, Gambling 3NT, CRO, Redoubles, Trial Bids, Jacoby and his all time most read page on McKenny signals and Discards. | Stafford Online BCL Thursday evening Bridge Club |
Please support the STAFRD club Thursday evening club session - turn up in the club room around 6:40 with your partner.
Message from Sean, 21st July 2026
- All Stafford BCL members wishing to play should gather in the Stafford lobby by 6.40pm at the latest.
- Sean will ask if those present wish to continue in the Stafford Room (12 people or more) or go to Teams (8 people), or go to East Cleveland.
- If the latter, they must come out of the Stafford lobby and go to the BCL Club list and select 'East Cleveland' as their club. They must click the button to join that club and they can play there.
- The next time they play they must leave East Cleveland club and rejoin Stafford Club, as BCL only allows membership of one named club at a time. We can then repeat the process above.

If you would like to give Bridge Club Live a try click here for the basic instructions, around 27 SBC members are active on BCL. A Stafford BCL virtual SBC club runs on Thursday evenings and a friendly BCL club runs on Tuesday mornings. The SSCBA set up a County wide Bridge Base Online virtual club that meets on Wednesday evenings, see here for advice on how to get started with BBO. A new third option is RealBridge where Newcastle Under Lyme, EBU and Midlands regional events take place. Please don't see these as either/or options but rather as different ways of enjoying online bridge which add variety to your game.

| Friday 7th August "bit of a do" |
|
Now regular 1st Friday in the month,. early players arrive with "finger food" to share at 6 pm and later players arriving any time up until 6:45 for the usual bridge start time of 7 pm. Simple finger food is the order of the day, food that will only require napkins and paper plates. Visitors very welcome, with or without a partner, but please remember to inform Angela of your car registration beforehand or use the parking QR code on arrival. If you do not have a partner please contact Ann who will try to arrange a partner for you.

| WhatsApp Group - Important Reminder |
The WhatsApp club group for players, who play at the Monday afternoon, Tuesday evening and Thursday morning club duplicate sessions is now active. Please do use the WhatsApp group to indicate when you would like to play otherwise it could be assumed, incorrectly, that you will not be playing at that session. The morning duplicate session on Thursday June 4th was cancelled on the incorrect assumption that there would not be a "quorum" because 4 players had not indicated they would be playing. Please email Angela if you wish to join the club WhatsApp group if you have not already done so..
Friday evening players have a less techy method to keep the director informed, just email to Ann only if you wish to play at the Friday evening club duplicate session and need a partner.

If you know of any member of the club who is unwell please let either Pat Martin or a member of the committee know so that appropriate wishes can be sent on behalf of all members.
The quickest response will be to tell either Pat Martin or any member of the committee at the bridge session then a card can be signed & posted immediately. Alternatively, you can email the secretary.
