About Springwood |
Bridge recommenced at Springwood Bridge Club on Monday 15th March 2021 under the conditions of a COVID-19 plan. At this stage the club will only play on Mondays (12:30 pm for 1:00pm).
In 1815 Governor Macquarie camped at what is now Macquarie Rd, Springwood and named the place Springwood because at that time this was a bush site and there was a spring of 'very good fresh water' at the head of a creek nearby. This led Governor Macquarie to name the place Springwood.
