DAVID GILLING

It is with great sadness that we share the news of David’s passing on Christmas Day. Since moving to Southport from Milton Keynes, both David and Anne became highly respected and cherished members of our Bridge community. David was the epitome of a gentleman, known for his kindness and integrity; it is often said that no one ever had a bad word to say about him. He will be deeply missed by us all.

David’s funeral is at Southport Crematorium on the 22nd January at 12 o’clock and afterwards at the Grand ,Southport. Parking is available at the rear of the building  and car registration is required when entering the premises.

GEORGE INGLIS TROPHY
GEORGE INGLIS TROPHY

Sandra Inglis recently presented Alan Murphy with the George Inglis trophy which is awarded to the best student who has learnt at the club. She explained that George was a very good bridge player but also spent a lot of time teaching and helping players who were learning the game and that is why the trophy, which is named after him, is there to encourage those who have recently started playing bridge.
