SCORERS
We now run at least seven weekly sessions of bridge, and we are looking for some volunteers to train as scorers. It is not a difficult task, and Ralph Graham has offered to run a short session to train anyone interested. There are also step-by-step notes to lead you through the procedure and you will be chaperoned when scoring until you feel confident to go it alone.
A list will be put up in the club for those interested
Tip of the week
A claim should be accompanied AT ONCE by a clear statement of the line of play through which the claimer proposes to win tricks, including the order of cards played
It is not acceptable to simply put the cards on the table and say "the rest are mine". If the claim is contested/doubted, the Director should be called immediately, prior to further discussion at the table, and they will adjudicate the result/outcome.
Any doubtful point as to a claim shall be resolved against the claimant.
Laws 68-70 of Duplicate Bridge apply
And finally......
We would respectfully remind all members that we are a friendly club and wish to remain as such.
There is no place for rude behaviour in this club.
