| BFACT Gala Pairs - entries close Thurs!! |
Saturday, 5 September, 9.45 am start at Canberra BC, $45 entry.
The Gala Pairs is a one-day butler pairs event for players of BFACT affiliated clubs of all levels. Regulations governing the event are here. Butler scoring and its tactical consequences are explained here.
The event will also be used to select the “ACT 2” team for the Grand National Open Teams (GNOT).

| Joint Club Championship 2026 |
The Championship for 2026 has concluded. Thirteen pairs played the minimum 4 sessions to be ranked.
Congratulations to the prize-winning pairs:
- the top pair overall of Ian Dalziell and Jeremy Dawson from Capital, who averaged 57.9%
- the top pair under 600 masterpoints of Bill Donovan and Atul Hajela of Capital (55.5%)
- the top pair under 200 masterpoints of Jane Young (Capital) and Jann White (SCBC) (50.0%)

For our Wednesday sessions (10:00 am & 7:00 pm), please register in our calendar; new visitors please contact the club.
Please note there are three sessions of the Make-A-Wish Pairs in September:
- Sept 2: morning
- Sept 15: evening
- Sept 30: morning.
Our normal Thursday sessions with Capital Bridge Club continue on Thursday nights on RealBridge. Please log in by 6.50pm (just click the link in our calendar).
Table money for all sessions is $4 for members and $6 for visitors. Only myABF credits accepted for table money.
Congratulations to Alex Hewat & Ken Colbert who are 2 nd of 276 pairs in the last Make-A-Wish Pairs with 18 of 19 clubs having reported results. The national results of the Australia Wide Open Pairs will be posted early September. With 62% of the event scored, Narinder Grover and Yogesh Kashyap are running 22 nd.

| Canberra in Bloom - Fri 2 to Mon 5 October |
Held in conjunction with Australia's largest floral festival, Floriade, Canberra in Bloom is a national, gold points congress for players of all abilities.
Pairs and teams events are held in novice, restricted and open categories, with a rookies pairs event catering for players with less than 5 masterpoints.

| ABF Club Teams Knock Out 2026 |
Congratulations to our teams in the under 300 and under 100 masterpoint divisions, who have qualified for the Knock Out stages of their respective events.
The quarter finals will held Tuesday 15 September.
Our Open team is eligible to play in the Consolation Swiss Teams.

South Canberra Bridge Club (SCBC) is an ABF affiliated club. You are most welcome to join the club.
Masterpoints are awarded at all sessions (your ABF number is needed).
SCBC strongly values the support of the Canberra Southern Cross Club, Woden:
- through having the use of the Community Rooms every week together with free undercover parking; and
- through its Community Rewards program. You can direct a percentage of your spending at the Club to our Bridge Club here
Please be considerate of the Southern Cross Club by leaving the room in a neat condition.
Tea, coffee, food and drinks can be purchased upstairs in the main dining area.
