Entries are open for the SCBA Championship Teams of Four 2026–27.

Qualifying requirements
All current county league teams are eligible to enter, and do not have to pay a further entry fee. If you do not have a team already playing in the county league, you can enter a team of up to six players, of which no more than two can be non Somerset affiliated players. Players whose team is eliminated in the qualifying rounds may not join a different team for the later stages of the competition.

The winners of the Somerset KO teams event, along with representatives from the runners-up, are eligible to represent Somerset in the Pachabo. The EBU requires that all players in our Pachabo team are Somerset registered.

Qualification event
This will take place on Friday, 23rd October and will be played on RealBridge, starting at 19:15 and finishing by 22:15. The event will be played as a Swiss Teams event of either four, five or six rounds, depending on the number of teams entering. Green points will be awarded to the top half of the field: 0.75 GP to the top quarter, and 0.5 GP to the next quarter.

The top four teams will enter the later knockout rounds. If there are 16 or more entries, then the top eight teams will enter the knockout rounds.

Knockout rounds
The composition of the knockout rounds will be decided by a draw held after the qualification event. All knockout matches can be played either face to face, or online using RealBridge. If there is difficulty agreeing where to play a match, then the match will be played online using RealBridge.
Quarter final matches will be played over 24 boards. Semi-final matches will be played over 32 boards, and the final match will be played over 48 boards. If both team captains agree, a semi-final can be played over 24 boards, and the final can be played over 32 boards. Matches can be split over two separate sessions.

Green points are awarded to the winners of each knockout match. The size of the GP award will depend on the number of entries to the qualification event.

Dates by which each of the knockout rounds must be completed will be announced after the qualification event.
