RB - The Play
What Can You See?

What Can You See

You have the bridge table in front of you
and will have camera images of yourself and everyone else at the table.

During the session there will be various boxes displayed that allow you to take different actions.
Some will be greyed out (and unavailable at that time)

Others, like the "Director" box, will always be available.
If you click it I will be called and will come to the table as soon as I am able.

Lower left you will find a "Score" box.

To the right is a group of boxes with things like:
Last Trick, Undo, Auction, Director, Claim & Leave
as well as a large purple exclamation mark (the "Alert")

You will also see the "Settings" cog (same design as used by Windows or Mobile phones etc).
Take a look and select what's best for you.
I find the "Simplified Cards" easier to look at than the "Detailed Cards".

Try things out and talk to others at the table.
The best way for us ALL to learn is to share our learning with others.

Bidding

Bidding

When it is your turn to bid you will be presented with a bidding box.
It looks just like one from the club.

Select your bid and that's it.  All done.

Jump Bids

The STOP card will be show automatically when a jump bid is made.
And the opponents will be forced to wait 8-10 seconds before they can bid.

Announcements & Alerts

As we now have sound we should start making Announcements and Alerts as prescribed by the rules of our game.
The way we did when we played face to face.

It's your partner who should make any necessary Announcement.
It's your partner who should Alert any of your bids that are a Convention.

No more "Self Alerting" please.
♠
UNDOs

There is an "Undo" button available.

It's OK to use it after a "mis-click"
But not after a change of mind (that's cheating)
devil

Playing the Cards

Playing the Cards

When it's your turn to play a card your name will be highlighted.

Click / tap the card you want to play and it should move to the table.
Declarer will, obviously, also play dummy's cards.

Some people are having difficulty with this as a second "click" is necessary.
Having selected the card you may then have to click on the table to actually play it.

I've observed this, and it may be somewhat irritating, but I'm sure we'll all get used to it.

As with bidding, you are free to use the "Undo" button.
Again, for mis-clicks and not changes of mind.
♠
Making a Claim

There is a "Claim" box on the screen to be used when you "know" how many more tricks you are going to make.

If you use it, and it can speed things up, you should also state your line of play.

If you make a claim and there is any doubt then any Director decision goes favourably to the opposition.
For example: if you fail to mention that you're going to draw trumps first.

End of a Hand

End of a Hand

Once the 13th card has been played a counter will appear in the middle of the table.
This will count down from 10 to zero, telling you how long until the next deal.

Moving Between Tables

The Move

The move between tables happens automatically.
Just sit tight and it will happen - you don't need to do anything.
YOU SHOULD NOT PRESS THE "LEAVE" BUTTON as this will return you to the Lobby.

(If you do press the "leave" button please return to where you were previously seated).

When enough tables have finished a round the Director will call the move.
I hope to give you warning that this is about to happen.
Those moving will then be whisked off to their next table.

If your table happens to be running behind then your move will happen shortly after you have finished playing.
