I am often asked questions about the rules of our game which are given in the EBU publication: "The Laws of Duplicate Bridge 2017".  An easier publication to get started is the "Duplicate Bridge Rules Simplified (2017)" (known as the Yellow Book) copies of which can be obtained from Mr Bridge for £5.95.

A lot of the questions come up quite regularly, so I have decided to put some of the rules on the website.

Slams is a friendly club but the rules are there to help us all, so they will be used when necessary.

It is also important that when there is an irregularity at the table you call the Director.  That's what he's there for.  The Director should know the rules better than anyone, and he does have the rules book to refer to.  I certainly won't always know the ruling but will make a decision at the table and go away and check when time allows.
