STEVE BAILEY PAIRS (on BBO)

The Glasgow Bridge Centre has for a number of years run a very successful on-line tournament for Bronze players in recognition of the work that Steve Bailey did for beginners.  This year with the demise of the Glasgow Bridge Centre and the formation of the Clyde Bridge Centre, it will be organised by the latter.  The date of the tournament will be Sunday, 22 March with details indicated on the attached flyer.  It will be open to all Bronze ranked players in Scotland. More details here.

ERSKINE TROPHY 2025/26

Erskine Trophy (Handicapped Teams of Four)

For many years, the West District has held an annual event in aid of the Erskine Hospital for military veterans. This year it was held at Stirling Bridge Club. As always, a generous handicap system was used to determine the final results, so everyone had a chance of success.

Both the winning team and the runners-up were from Stirling BC. On a split tie, the winners were Gavin Keith, Patricia Collins, Tim Hedley and Neil Atkinson, with Veronica & Michael Oak, Fiona Maclaurin and Paul Machin in second place.

Many thanks to Stirling Bridge Club for hosting the event, and to our convener, Gavin Keith.

CLYDE BRIDGE CENTRE
CLYDE BRIDGE CENTRE

Three long-established Glasgow-based bridge clubs (Buchanan Bridge Club,  Glasgow Bridge Centre and St Andrew Bridge Club) voted in 2024 to amalgamate to form a new Bridge Club and this has resulted in the Clyde Bridge Centre.

The Clyde Bridge Centre has been formed as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), which has been approved and registered under the name The Hillington Bridge Club Ltd, trading as the Clyde Bridge Centre.

The new club is located in Hillington (Glasgow) and is now open for both F2F and online tournaments.

For further details and to join the new club visit the Clyde Bridge Centre website.
