CALENDAR REMINDERS
Reminders: no games, classes or workshops on Saturday, March 7
and no games on Thursday, March 12 (Robert Todd Workshop)

Saturday and Sunday, March 7-8, 2026: 499 Non-life master Sectional
at our Club. Cost: $12 /session for ACBL members; $16/session for non/ACBL members.
Please carpool---parking will be challenging.
Please arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. for check-in. Anyone wanting to play who has not already
reserved a spot will have to wait until the end of registration to see if there are any seats left.

Friday, May 1, 2026: Happy 50th Birthday, Santa Barbara Bridge Center.
We will celebrate with a catered dinner following the afternoon games. Reservations required on Zeffy:

Sunday, May 3, 2026 5pm-8pm
Board and card game night and potluck.
Potluck begins at 5:00 pm; games begin at 5:30. Bring your own games or just come play with others. Family and friends are welcome.
June 15-19, 2026:
from 5:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. Beginning Bridge Camp for Kids.
Ages: incoming 7th through 12th graders. Mature/math savvy 5th and 6th graders are also welcome.
Volunteers are needed. Please see Liz Heron or Carol Rezek. $100/camper. Scholarships are available for those who require financial assistance.
EDUCATION AND CLASSES
Mentored workshops:
Players of all levels are encouraged to drop in
Saturday mornings 9:30-11:30 for mentored play. $10/session.
Ronnie Morris has 1 more class on Cue Bids. Thursday, March 5 at 9:30 am or 4:15 p.m.

PARKING – HELP NEEDED
We are happy that our Bridge Center is growing,
but we are challenged by the growth on certain days when the attendance
exceeds our parking capacity. We have 21 spots in our lot, 6 exclusive spaces
in front of our building, and 3 non-exclusive spaces in front. On Friday afternoons
and Saturday mornings, we have been having somewhere in the neighborhood
of 70-80 people. Clearly “our” 30 spots are not sufficient for our crowd.
We are “lease-restricted” from parking in any of the other spots in the strip mall.
We cannot park in front of the
Chinese restaurant or in front of the Scholarship Foundation.
We cannot split the two Friday games, because we do not have a director
for both morning and afternoon and because the traffic/parking situation
as one large group leaves and another arrives would present additional problems.
Thank you to those of you who took the time to fill out the Parking Questionnaire.
The Board will be reviewing the responses and deciding how to proceed in the near future.
In the meantime, please try to carpool. We have compiled a list of people who live
in the same geographical area. Please review the list posted on the fridge
to see if we have you in the right neighborhood and to make
any necessary corrections. Please use the list to try to find others with whom you might carpool.
