Bruce Thompson taught for 37 years prior to his retirement (11 years at the University of New Orleans, and 26 years at Texas A&M University).   Bruce is an SDBC Director, and prior to the pandemic, and the Club burning down, directed a morning Novice game, and each game was preceded by a brief lesson.   Bruce also taught the last bridge lesson taught at the old Clubhouse, in March 2020, on "2 over 1", the first of a series of three lessons, the remainder of which never happened.   Bruce also is the author and distributor of the locally-popular "Esther Bridge Lessons."
