Donna Heinsbroek was a member of the club who was diagnosed with a terminal disease. She made it her mission to achieve the rank of Life Master.  Jay Gould helped her towards this goal by playing with her in many tournaments across the country.  Donna won the Mini-McKenney award in 2014 for earning the most masterpoints of anyone who started the year below 100.  In 2015 she earned 402 masterpoints, reaching her goal of Life Master three days into 2016.  The ACBL honored her by naming her ACBL Bridge Ambassador, an award she greatly cherished. Sadly, she passed away later in 2016.

Donna is remembered with love by her partners, teammates and opponents across the United States, but especially in Savannah.  We honor her memory with the Donna Heinsbroek Trophy, donated by Jay Gould. This trophy is awarded each year to the member who earns the most pigmented masterpoints and who started the year with fewer than 100 masterpoints.
