It has always been the policy of Rye Beach Bridge Club to guarantee everyone a partner.

Unfortunately due to changed circumstances this is no longer possible. You are still welcome to come along without a partner and take 'pot luck' but a partner cannot be guaranteed.

Please contact Margaret by text on 0447 806 699 as early as possible if you require a partner. It is more than likely there will be someone else looking for a game.

Welcome to Rye Beach Bridge Club

It is now 2 months since we have been in lockdown and I hope eveyone is safe and well and managing to get their bridge 'fix' on-line.

There is still no sign of council premises opening up, certainly not before the end of June.

There are many websites out there to play on-line bridge like Bridge Base on-Line and Step Bridge which I use. I play every day, sometimes twice a day. Each match is 24 boards and takes nearly 3 hours which really breaks up the day.

There are lots of web sites offering bridge lessons, some free, some you have to pay a membership. Joan Butts web site is excellent and she is offering special rates at the moment. Peter Holland has some excellent videos on You Tube which are free.

I expect everyone's house is beautifully clean and tidy and all these little maintenance jobs are done and you have gone through all your 'junk'. I am going to do that soon but i have knitted a jumper, made lots of patchwork squares for my pandemic quilt. I am also enjoying making bread.

I am also getting through 2 books a week from Borrowbox which is free from the local library. I was aslo given a jigsaw yesterday.

I miss my grandchilren as i expect everyone else does.

Keep well and safe and look forward to seeing you all later this year hopefully.

All bridge is cancelled until further notice.
please keep checking the web site.

Bush Fire Appeal

A total of $551.00 was donated to the Bush Fire Appeal by members of Rye Beach Bridge Club.

This was given to The Lions Club of Rye as every dollar will go directly to help victems.

The ABF has given 'free' Red Points to any club running a Bush Fire Apppeal.

Consequently if you played bridge at Portsea on Monday 13th January your points will be converted to Red Points.

I would like to thank eveyone who made a donation.
