We extend deepest sympathy to the family of Ros Jennings who passed away last week. Ros was an esteemed member of our club for many years. May she rest in peace.

The Corrib Cup has been deferred until 24th November 2019

Our Christmas Party will be held on Friday 20th December in The Clybaun Hotel.

A three course meal with wine, music, fun, and Christmas cheer for 25 euro.

Two other clubs will be joining us on the night.

Well done to all RTC members who performed so well in the Ennis Bridge Congress, Jan 31st-Feb 2nd. Special congratulations to Margaret McCarthy & Declan Harte who were 1st in the Intremediate A Congress Pairs Competition & who together with their teammates won the Intermediate A prize in the Congress Teams Competition.

Well done to Gay Keaveney & Fr Enda Glynn on coming a close 2nd in the Senior Camrose Trials on Dec 14/15 and to Margaret McCarthy & Declan Harte for coming 3rd in the Intermediate A Pairs at the Tralee Congress.

• Congratulations to Gay and Enda who won a prize in this year's IBU Simultaneous Pairs event.

Well done to Gay Keaveney & Fr Enda Glynn & Teammates on coming second in Round One of the IBU Camrose Trials in Clane on Jan 25th & 26th. We wish them the very best of luck in Round Two due to take place on Feb 8th in Dublin.

Well done to Margaret McCarthy & Declan Harte & Team on winning the Intermediate Teams Competition at the Cork Congress. Margaret & Declan also came 2nd in the Intermediate Pairs Competition. 

The Camrose trials qualifiers to play for the Irish team against England, Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland took place over the October Bank Holiday Weekend. This year it was decided to run the qualifier over just one weekend but over the three days on the Bank Holiday weekend. There were 7 rounds of 24 board matches.

Two of our players from Galway competed in the event, Team Walsh with  David Walsh and Enda Glynn along with their teammates Peter Pigot and Karel deReaeymaeker. It was a close finish but unfortunately, the Walsh team were pipped finishing in 2nd place.  In the actual pairing results, David and Enda finished in 3rd place out of all the pairings which shows what a good fight they put up .  Hopefully they will be called for first reserves.

Congratulations to Gay Keaveney & Partner & Gay Keaveney & Teammates on coming a very close 2nd in both the CBAI National Mens Pairs & National Mens Teams competitions which took place in Clane last weekend, January 18th & 19th 2020.

A great performance also by Deirdre O'Halloran & Partner Lynn Duffy at the CBAI National Womens Pairs & Teams Compeitions. They won the Regional Master Pairs Section.

Well done to our Junior Member, Isabel Burke (age 15) on an outstanding performance in winning the Intermediate 'A' Section (Jackson Cup)with her partner Sheila Walsh.

Congratulations to Deirdre O'Halloran & Liam Faherty on winning the Corrib Cup 2019 presented by the President Pat Ward.
