Find a Partner (Members)
Find a Partner (Members)

Following recent changes to Bridgewebs, here's some brief notes on using Find a Partner at Royston:

1. Login to Members Only by clicking on the box on the homepage.
2. Enter your Partner Request in Find a Partner.
3. Wait and see who contacts you.

It's as simple as that!

The following notes expand on the summary points above, for those who are new to the facility:

1. If you are not a member, you will have to use Find a Partner (Public) instead.  This has less functionality than Find a Partner (Members) but is provided as a fall-back mechanism for non-members to request a partner.

2. Find a Partner is the first tab available in Members Only, and will be presented by default when you logon there.

If you are new to Find a Partner, spend a few moments familiarising yourself with this screen:
There are three columns headed PR (Partner Required), PL (Playing) and NP (Not Playing)... on this occasion PR is the one you will be interested in.

There are also three tick-boxes, to allow you to specify which of your contact details will be displayed in the resulting request: email, phone or mobile. Email is the default, but if you prefer your phone or mobile number to be displayed instead or in addition, just tick/untick the boxes accordingly.

Once you have selected an event in the PR column, click on the Confirm button (top-left), and your partner request will be generated.

Two things will now happen:

i) The Find a Partner request will automatically be registered in Bridgewebs, so that:
a) Other members accessing Find a Partner will see your request.
b) The club Calendar will be updated with a link (Partner?) against the specified event, to indicate that someone is looking for a partner on that date.

ii) An email will be sent to all members of the club notifying them of the Find a Partner request.
(This process is not yet fully automated, so don't panic if an email doesn't appear for a few hours.)

3. It's up to you how you deal with responses to your Find a Partner requests, though "first-come, first-served" is probably advisable.

Once your Find a Partner request has been accepted, it is good practice to go back in to Find a Partner and update the entry to PL (Playing) with your partner's name in the free-format data entry box alongside. The club calendar will now be updated to (Reservation) with the partnership details displayed in Find a Partner, so members will know you are no longer looking for a partner. Publicising the success of the request may also act as an encouragement to others to use the Find a Partner facility in future.
