Following recent changes to Bridgewebs, here's some brief notes on using Find a Partner at Royston:
1. Logon to Members Only
2. Enter your Partner Request in Find a Partner
3. Wait and see who contacts you
It's as simple as that!
The following notes expand on the summary points above, for those who are new to the facility:
1. If you are not a member, you will have to use Find a Partner (Public) instead. This has less functionality than Find a Partner (Members) but is provided as a fall-back mechanism for non-members to request a partner.
2. Find a Partner is the first tab available in the club's Member Area, and will be presented by default when you logon to Members Only.
If you are new to Find a Partner, spend a few moments familiarising yourself with this screen:
There are three columns, PR (Partner Required), PL (PLaying) and NP (Not Playing)... in practice, PR is the one you will be most interested in!
There are also three tick-boxes, to allow you to specify how you wish to be contacted: email, phone or mobile. Email is the default, but if you prefer to display your phone or mobile number instead or in addition, just tick the boxes accordingly.
Once you have selected an event in the PR column, click on the Confirm button (top-left), and your partner request will be generated.
Two things will now happen:
i) The Find a Partner request will automatically be registered in Bridgewebs, so that:
a) Other members accessing Find a Partner will see your request
b) The club Calendar will be updated with a link (Partner?) against the specified event
ii) An email will be sent to all members of the club notifying them of the Find a Partner request. This process is not yet fully automated, so don't panic if an email doesn't appear for a few hours!
3. It's up to you how you deal with your answers to Find a Partner requests, though "first-come, first-served" is probably advisable.
Once your Find a Partner request has been accepted, it is good practice to go back in to Find a Partner and update the entry to PL (PLaying) with your partner's name in the free-format data entry box alongside. The club calendar will now be updated to (Reservation) with the partnership details displayed in Find a Partner (as an encouragement to others to use the facility)!
