General Information about BCL

BCL at present have several rooms in which to play - most of us play in the Social Bridge Room but in other rooms players can gain master points and there are also competitions such as simultaneous pairs under the auspices of the EBU. See below for our club Virtual Bridge sessions

In the social bridge room, you can set up a Private table for Ridgeway with a password but your results are still published against the 600 to 1200 pairs who play those boards over a 24-hour period. One of our club pairs came 5th with a score of 71% on one session.

Ridgeway Virtual Club - BCL (Monday 1845 for 1900 prompt start)

We would like to thank all those who have joined us since last October on line at our BCL virtual club.   We are pleased to say that the Committee have taken a decision to continue with this, as well as restarting the Face-to-Face Bridge at Cookhill Village Hall on a Monday.  The reasons for this are that we have been delighted to attract a number of new members of the club through this initiative, and many of these, whilst possibly able to join us face to face in the future occasionally, are unable to commit to travelling to the Village Hall for 1845 each Monday evening; we have other members who do not yet feel comfortable to come along to Face-to-Face sessions but who play on line; and whilst we all hope not, there is a possibility that during the autumn/winter we may have further restrictions placed on us, which mean face to face is not possible.  We will therefore be continuing to operate a virtual club every Monday, and hope that those who are unable to join us at the Village Hall for whatever reason will play.  In line with other Clubs, we are now going to need to make a small charge - £1.00 a session - for the online bridge, as we do have expenses connected with this.  We would ask that you keep a record of when you have paid and then each month transfer the relevant amount to the Ridgeway Bank account electronically, using your surname as a reference.  If you need the Bank details please e mail joanogg@blueyonder.co.uk or yvettewaide@hotmail.com
