Book March (Eve) - Defence Mini Course
Book - Defence Mini Course

You are booking for the Defence mini-course which will be held on Thursday evenings at 7.00pm over three weeks on 7th, 14th and 21st March. It is intended for those who have completed the beginner's course and want a recap on their existing knowledge as well as to cover a little new ground. This would also be ideal for those attending supervised play, gentle duplicates or Richard's workshops.

The full course (3 sessions) will cost £50 per person if booked at one time. Individual sessions can also be booked at a cost of £20 per person.

The course will be held at the clubhouse and be led by Richard Banbury.

There is no need to have a partner - but of course please feel free to invite someone along as your partner if you wish to build your partnership understanding together

The course will cover the following topics:

 

March 7th     Opening Leads against NT contracts
     
    Sequences and broken sequences
     
    4th highest leads vs passive MUD leads
     
    Leading and returning partner's suit
     
March 14th   Opening Leads against a suit contract
     
    Sequences, Doubletons, Singletons
     
    Leading trumps
     
    The dangers of leading away from honours vs safe passive leads 
     
March 21st   Helping Partner in Defence
     
    Card placement - where are the key cards ?
     
    Signalling - giving "Attitude" vs "Count"
     
    2nd and 3rd hand play - covering honours
