LEARNING BRIDGE |
Learning bridge at Richmond Bridge Academy is a great mixture of fun and study. Our lessons are based on Bridge For All, the recommended teaching programme produced by the English Bridge Union, the national governing body for the game of bridge in this country.
We spread the learning for Beginners over four terms - each term consisting of ten weekly two-hour lessons - the first hour focusing on theory, and the second on practising what you have learned through actual play. The cost of each term is £180.00 which includes all course materials.
Towards the end of Term 1 we encourage you to start attending Supervised Play - sessions where teachers are on hand to give help and advice.

MOVING FROM LEARNING TO PLAYING BRIDGE |
Towards the end of Beginners Term 1 (or at any time you feel confident enough!), we encourage you to try some of our sessions aimed both at beginners and improvers.
Our ‘Supervised Play’ sessions are a great way to practice and improve. At these sessions the focus is on learning and enjoyment, and teachers are always on hand to help and advise.
Our ‘Bidding and Play Workshops’ and ‘Refresh & Practice’ sessions are another great way to practice and improve. Here, the hands are all based on a particular theme, with the teacher leading the session reminding players of that theme’s key points and being available to help and advise.
If you want to take the 'next step' we have several 'Gentle' Sessions. These follow a normal competitive duplicate format, but with longer playing times, and are restricted to improvers and intermediate players.
