BRIDGESTEDDFOD - National Welsh Festival of Bridge

The Green Pointed WBU National Pairs and Teams competitions, are now all being held together in one long weekend from 20 to 23 August in Cardiff City Centre. If this isn't for you, come along and play in our gentle social bridge events running alongside our championship events.

New Improvers Bridge Session

Duration: 8 Weeks from Tuesday 4 August 2026 to Tuesday 22 September 2026 inclusive

Venue: Rhiwbina Memorial Hall

Time: 12:30 - 14:30

The session is for leaners that have completed the EBU/WBU Beginners' Course and is designed to give them the confidence and knowledge needed to attend regular Club Bridge Sessions.

The precise format will be fluid, but refreshers on bidding and play techniques will be included. It will be an interactive session and there will also be prepared hands to play. These will more than likely not be related to the topic of discussion but rather random to help replicate what you'll find in a club session.

The cost of each session will be table money of £5 for non-members or £3 for members.

Would you like to learn to TEACH bridge?

Rhiwbina Bridge Club is looking for a teacher or teachers to run a course of bridge for beginners, probably starting in January 2027.

To help in this respect, a teacher’s training course is due to be held in Cardiff on Sundays 18 October and 1 November – initially online and then face to face. If interested, please let Roger know on roger.wright100@talk21.com or phone 07811 509490.

Payment of Realbridge Sessions

Please try and keep track of how many Realbridge sessions you have played vs the number you have paid for, rather than waiting for the club to notify you.

if you play with a guest you will have to pay for both of you.

Things will run much more efficiently if you can each take responsibility for topping-up your table money credit before it runs chase you for a further payment.
