Covid 19 Protection Measures - Returning to In-Person Bridge in RUBC

Railway Union Bridge Club: Some Points for Returning to Live Bridge.

While some Covid 19 protection measures are no longer mandatory, they are still recommended.  Public guidance now places greater emphasis on personal responsibitiy in minimising Covid 19 risks.  Remember that some members still feel vulnerable.  Please play your part in ensuring all members having an enjoyable game.

  • Mask wearing is no longer mandatory. However, we ask that players bring a mask with them and be willing to wear it at tables where other players are doing so.
  • Please do not come to the club if you exhibit any signs of Covid 19 infection.
  • Hand sanitisers will be provided at each table. Please use them before you leave the table to allow hands to dry fully. You may wish to bring your own hand sanitiser instead.
  • Air purification systems will continue to be in use during the evening.
  • Arrive in good time for the game
  • Bring a suitable card to make non-contact payment for the game.
  • We will provide bidding boxes at each table.    E/W may choose to bring their initial box with them from table to table.
  • North will enter score into the Bridgemate.  Having shown entry to E/W and accepted, North then presses “Accept”.
  • If you are declarer, please tell your partner which card you would like to play (this reduces card handling)
  • We ask that you observe coughing and sneezing etiquette, (covering your mouth with your elbow or sleeve, not your hand) .

The Bridge Committee thank you for your cooperation in our transition to post-Covid live Bridge
