| Duplicate Procedure & Etiquette Tips |
- Each player should have a completed Convention Card filled out available for the opponents.
- Keep score by using a convention card/score sheet. These are available at the bridge check-in desk.
- If you are on lead, make your lead (always face-down) before you write the contract down on your personal score sheet or, if you're North, lead before you enter any information into the Bridgemate scoring device
- Agree with your opponents on the result, then put your cards back in the board. There should not be any cards left on the table while scoring is taking place.
- Stay focused by paying attention to whether you are dealer. If you are the dealer, sort your hand and be prepared to begin the auction. This way, the other three players aren't waiting and the round will be completed in the allotted time.
- If your table does not begin bidding by the time the 2-minute announcement is made, a "No Play" will be entered. This will help keep the game on schedule and not delay two tables.
- Keep talking to a minimum so everyone (including neighboring tables) can concentrate. No running commentary is necessary while the auction is live or during the play.
- If the round has been called and the director has instructed E-W players to move for the next round and your table is finishing playing a board, pass your completed boards to the table who will play those boards in the next round. If your table is running late this is a courtesy you should extend so as to not hold up the other table and keep them waiting for boards.
