July Bridge Update

Here is a roundup of the latest Purley Bridge News with some dates for your diary.

Summer Season

The Winter Season 2025 finished on the 31st of March and the Summer Season 2026 commenced on April the 1st and will end on the 31st of August 2026.

All Summer ladders require a minimum of 7 appearances to qualify

 

Beginner Bridge Lessons

Beginner Bridge lessons in the Bowls Pavilion have now finished for the summer.   A new set of lessons will begin in September/October 2026.  If you know anyone who would like to learn to play Bridge please ask them to get in touch with Brenda Blackwell via the website. 
The assisted play sessions will continue as usual through the summer.  These sessions take place from 1pm - 3pm every Wednesday afternoon at the back of the Cowen Suite. 
 

Weekly Bridge sessions

The Monday, Wednesday and Thursday sessions continue as normal.

Stewards are available on all Monday and Thursday evenings and Wednesday mornings.

The Wednesday afternoon arrangement whereby the Directors act as Stewards remains unchanged.

 A new rota for Stewards and Scorers has been set up for the Summer season. Details are on the Bridgewebs calendar.
Charity Event - Postponed until the Autumn

The Charity Event scheduled for Friday May 15th has been postponed until the Autumn.
