CHANGE TO HOW WE PAY FOR LOP SESSIONS

Collecting LOP table money is very labour intensive and we also have to pay a monthly licence fee for software to process the data.  IBEx have offered to help by collecting the table money on our behalf, which will reduce volunteer workload and may well save some cash.

This change will start from 1 April 2023 and what it will mean is:

1) When you join a LOP session, the charge will not say FREE as now, but rather $3.60.  Each player can pay for themselves, or one person can pay for both players;

2) You will need to have some BBO dollars (BB$) on your BBO account.  Unlike the current arrangements, you cannot run your BBO account in deficit, so you need to remember to keep it ‘topped up’.  Loading your BBO account with BB$’s is very straightforward, easier than loading money on your LCBA account (no CZ needed!)

We don’t think this change should cause anyone any great difficulties and we hope that the new process will enable us to not need to increase LOP table money throughout 2023.  If for any reason you will have difficulty with this change, then please contact Bill Alston via email account lcba2021@outlook.com.
