BBO (Bridge Base On-line) is a website offering FREE Bridge play.
BBO was created in 1990 and as it grew evolved into 'Clubs,' Most of the Clubs play Americans SAYC.or 2/1 but there is also a Acol Club where the rules are that all must play Acol. Prior to CV19 the Acol club averaged about 25 tables each evening, since CV19 this has shot up to 150 tables.
To access this facility type BBO into Google
Note: The below description of what screens you will see when you navigate through BBO is based upon what I see on a standard Microsoft computer, I believe other platforms e.g. iPad see it slightly differently.
Click on 'Login/Register'
After first registration you will login using your chosen username and password.
Note: Like any website forum there are some psychos on there and so it's probably a good idea to choose names that don't identify you.
On the first screen after logging in you will see your username in the top right corner. To the right you will see tabs for Messages, People, History and Account. . Click on Account and create your profile by choose a skill level and inputting your choice of play e.g. Acol, Benji, weak 2's etc. (Tip: Click on other users 'username' to look at their profile as example of profiles) Note: Partners considering joining you will look at your profile to see if it is similar to theirs..
There are many 'clubs' on this site e.g. Main Club, Relaxed Club and there is also an Acol Club which dictates that players there must follow the Acol system. To get to the Acol Club click on . . .
