Release 2.19r
BBO Instructions

In order to play Virtual Club Games on BBO:

1) You need a BBO account (the website is bridgebase.com). If you are new to it, please email your BBO username to us, at staff@portlandbridgeclub.com. You can use any username you want, but please use your real name in the "real name" field. (Click Here for step by step instructions.) We are trying to recreate the social atmosphere of a club game, and you wouldn't play at the club in disguise, or with a bag over your head! If you need some extra help with BBO, here is a great tutorial: http://youth.worldbridge.org/how-to-use-bridgebase-online/

2) You need your ACBL# (if any) entered in your account. (You don't have to be an ACBL member to play on BBO). If you have never done this before, log into BBO, click on ACBL World, and then click on update your ACBL #. Afterwords, email your BBO username to us, at staff@portlandbridgeclub.com, Click here for step by step pictures.

3) You need some money in your BBO account. Click on the BB$ on the top right of the BBO home page.

4) You need to register for the tournament (it won't appear until two hours before the start time). Log in to BBO, click "competitive", then "ACBL Virtual Tournaments", then click on the game you want. (Look for PBC and our club number VACB238899). If you don't see it, you many not be on our list of eligible players. If you email us your BBO username, we will add you to the list. You are already on the list if you had previously entered your ACBL# in your BBO account, and have ever won masterpoints at the Portland Bridge Club.

5) You need to find a partner, but there is a great partnership desk function (it shows at the top after you register) to help with matchmaking. You can add yourself to the list, or browse the list and invite anyone there to play with you. When you click on their user name, their real name will appear in their profile.

6) If you have a partner, it would be great to have a convention card with that partner. Click Here to see a short video about how to setup convention cards in BBO.

If you want a brief, free practice game:

To give you a chance to learn the BBO tournament format, let us know at staff@portlandbridgeclub.com if you would like a free 30 min practice game. Registration would be the same as described above. We will add more free practice games to the schedule, as needed.
