Welcome to Portland Bridge Club
Welcome

Welcome to the Portland Bridge Club. We are a vibrant and welcoming community, devoted to providing a pleasant and supportive environment in which to enjoy the game of bridge. If you are interested in playing or learning, please contact us and we will provide you with information to help get you started.

Parking

There are a lot of spots that say reserved. They are free to park in unless they are reserved for a specific business. E.g. OnPoint and The Oregon Clinic.

If you park in the lot reserved for the Oregon Clinic (the one on the south side of the building off of Vaughan) you will get towed. In order to be good neighbors and tenants we ask that you respect their parking rights and do not park there. These spots are reserved 24/7, so even if you think "It's alright, they're closed" you will be towed.

5 handicapped parking spots are available on 27th. They are across the street from the building.

You can park in the West Lot over by the large entrance to the building, but we are located at the other end of the building. Things that say visitor or 2 hr parking are fine.

March Birthday Bash

Happy birthday to our players (free plays!) born in March who joined us for the monthly Birthday Bash (2nd Friday of most months):

Celebrating with 17 tables of friends (from left to right):

Ruth Yokoyama, Sue Poorman, Bruce Peterson, Katy Balagopal and Joyce Devore.

New Novice Game

Starting Thursday April 23, the PBC will be launching a novice game at 11a.

We will play for about 2 hours and then talk about the hands. During the bidding if you are stuck for what to do, you can ask for help and we will be by to help you think about the situation. We won't bid for you, but we will help you with the logic of the situation.

After the session, we'll be able to go over the hands as a group and discuss:

  • Bidding
  • Leads
  • Defense
  • Declarer play
  • Scoring
  • Matchpoints

No partner needed.

ACBL matchpoints will be awarded.

If you are unsure, please feel free to come in and watch to see how it all works.
