Betty Spurling Trophy
Monday 5th October

The afternoon session on Monday 5th October will be the annual competition for the Betty Spurling Trophy. Those wishing to participate must come as a team of 4 (ie, 2 pairs), but no advance registration is required. In all other respects it will operate as a normal Monday afternoon duplicate session, which it will replace.

Tuesday 6th October Finlay Suite


This event will commence promptly at 10am and be likely to finish by about 3-3.30pm. Advance registration is required (one registration per pair), and you can register here. In a change from previous arrangements, sandwiches (if desired) must be ordered at the bar on the morning of 6th October.

Swiss Pairs - Autumn 2026

    

 YOU ARE INVITED 

 

Swiss Pairs - 10.00 am Tuesday 6th October 2026 Finlay Suite.

 

Please arrive in time to be seated by 9.50 at the latest to ensure play can start at 10.00

 

You and your partner are cordially invited to enter this forthcoming event.  It will be held in the Finlay Suite, starting promptly at 10 am. and likely to finish by about 3 - 3.30 pm. 

The cost per person is £10 per head, which is payable on the day.   Prizes will be awarded.  Players will be seeded into two groups and there will be prizes for the top pairs in each group.

You and your partner will start the day by playing at a table with players of a similar level and then, depending on the outcome, ascend or descend.  In total there will be five rounds with a sandwich lunch (at participants’ own cost) taking place at 12.30 to 1.15 pm. 

 

If you wish to participate then you MUST register, in advance, as a pair.   Only one registration per pair is necessary.  As numbers may have to be limited, early registration is strongly advised.  In any event, please register no later than Monday the 28th of September.  You can register here.   You will receive an acknowledgment of registration and only those registrations that have been acknowledged will be allowed to play.  If you think that you have registered but, have not received such an acknowledgement then please contact me via the email address given below.

 

Should you need assistance in finding a partner please contact me and I shall try to help, though cannot guarantee success.   


If you have registered and become unable to play, please inform me as soon as possible.
