For a step by step explanation on how to play in the ABF Nationwide Online Pairs please read the document below.
The ABF is running a regular weekly online BBO (Red point) session which is open to all registered ABF players. There is also a concurrent but separate Restricted event (which is available to players who possess less than 300 masterpoints as of April 1, 2020). The main objective is to provide an opportunity to play online to those ABF players who do not have access to ABF Club Games.
These Nationwide Pairs sessions are held each Sunday at 2.30 pm AEST. Due to time zone differences a 2.30pm start in the Eastern States allows for a 2.00pm start in South Australia and 12.30pm start in Western Australia. There is a standard entry fee of 3 BB$ per player.
These events will appear as ‘ABF Nationwide Online Pairs’ and ‘ABF Nationwide Online Restricted Pairs’ under the host names ‘ABF_TD9’ and ‘ABF_TD10’. Both will be of 24 boards duration and because of the expected wide variation in experience of the participants, the session will run at the relatively leisurely pace of 7 minutes per board.
The sessions will only become visible in the ‘pending’ competitions section of BBO two hours prior to the scheduled start time. Those pairs who wish to play may then enter from that point forward (i.e., between 12:30 and 2:30 AEST). Both members of the partnership must be online in order to enter and they must ensure that they are back on-line at the scheduled start time, otherwise the system will automatically exclude them.
