NO FEAR FRIDAYS - SUMMER STAND DOWN
Please note that with immediate effect the No Fear Friday Sessions will stop for a Summer Break until Friday 30th August when Jennifer Blair will run them for the winter months
In 2019 there will be two levels of classes on offer at Perth Bridge Club
For beginners: The 20 week course is for people wanting to learn to play this great game!
Weekly classes will be held on Monday afternoons 1.30-4.30pm and on Monday evenings 7- 10pm
Beginning Monday 7th October 2019
For complete beginners who have never played any trick-taking card game before, there are 2 free classes introducing you to card play on Saturdays 28th September and 5th October 10.00 - 12.30 before the 20 week course begins.

For Experienced Bridge Players: Iain Sime, Scottish Internationalist and member of The Melvillle Bridge Club in Edinburgh
will be running the popular Bronze to Silver course for the first time at Perth Bridge Club this autum and winter.
This course is aimed at experienced club players who wish to improve their play.
These classes are suitable for experienced club players of Bronze rank,
recently-promoted Silver players and Gold level players too!
Those who have attended this course in Edinburgh have found that their bridge improves dramatically!
2 hour weekly classes with be held at Perth Bridge Club over two x 12 week terms on Tuesday mornings 10.30-12.30

The course has been put together expertly by Scottish Internationalist Iain Sime.
Although it is aimed at experienced Bronze players, the course is also of interest to those
who have recently been promoted to Silver, and is also very useful to Gold level players.

We are a club that welcomes and supports bridge players at all levels.
Club nights are about enjoying the game without the pressure of on going competitions.
There will be a host to partner any unaccompanied players
Although there are no specific competitions on club nights,
the Jean Paton trophy will be awarded to the pair of Bronze 1 rank
(neither player higher than novice or club master) achieving
the highest average percentage of their best 10 scores.

The University of Stirling is launching a global ‘Keep Bridge Alive’ CrowdFund campaign to establish the Sociology of Bridge and to communicate messages about the benefits of bridge beyond the bridge world. This emerging academic field explores interactions within the mind sport, well-being, healthy ageing and social connection as experienced in the bridge community. The key goals of this research are to transform the image of bridge, to increase participation and enhance the sustainability of the mind sport.

The Competition is open to ALL Perth Bridge Club Members
Cross-Imp Pairs (September 2018 – August 2019)
To be played over 12 rounds usually on the 3rd Thursday of the month.
Cross Imps scoring (aggregate scores converted to Imps).
The final score of each pair in the competition will be the average of their best 7 scores over the year.
To qualify, a minimum of 7 rounds must be played.
Visitors ( with a partner) are always welcome on Thursday nights but will not qualify for the competition

Ian Wishart's Wednesday morning bridge sessions will continue until the end of June. There will then be a summer break until October.
Sessions commence promptly at 10.00 am each Wednesday morning.
Sessions are open to all players (including non-members) and are ideal for anyone looking to improve their game.
To provide opportunities for players at all levels from novice to expert to enjoy the competitive game of Bridge and develop their skills through learning and participation at a well-equipped facility which offers a sociable, friendly and welcoming environment.
