Welcome to Penzance Improvers Bridge
IMPORTANT NOTICE

Following updated advice from the EBU, we have decided to do the same as our local EBU Clubs who have cancelled all Bridge with immediate effect and for the foreseeable future.  We hope you will agree that this decision is in the best interests of us all, even though it means we have to give up meeting for a while.  We'll keep you informed if the situation should change.

Web Site
Web Site

The main objective of the Penzance Improvers Bridge is to focus on improvers and to act as a feeder group to the main EBU Clubs for those who wish to progress to a higher level.

There are usually around 6 or 7 tables playing duplicate bridge on a Friday evening between 7 and 10pm. There is a fairly relaxed attitude as it is recognised most people are learning  and not too much pressure should be put on improvers to speed up play.  However, we are also conscious that players need to be made aware of what would be expected of them when playing in the main Clubs.  Players are also encouraged to call a Director (most of whom are also learning themselves) when anything goes wrong, so that all can learn the rules of Bridge.

Visitors are welcome, but if you are a beginner it is recommended that you attend formal bridge classes rather than this group initially, as an awareness of basic bidding and playing protocols will be expected.

Diary Dates

Just to remind you all that on the last event in the month, we shall be drawing for partners.

We shall hold our annual charity event on Friday 3rd April, when all proceeds will go to St. Julia's Hospice

Important Information

Please ensure that you are at the appropriate venue 15 minutes before the start time to allow Directors to organise the table and movement. There is a chance that players arriving late may not be able to play.
