About Us |
Penrith Bridge Club is a small friendly club with around 40 members meeting on Wednesday evenings to play Duplicate Bridge.
Play starts at 7.00pm and details of where and how to get there together with contact details are included on the Information Page of this web site. We are always happy to welcome new members and visitors and should you need a partner to play with then contact us and we will do our best to find a partner for you. So come along and join us for an enjoyable evening of Bridge and perhaps make new friends and even teach us one or two things about the game.
We are always ready to learn!

Beginners/Improvers Evenings |
Come and join our Improvers Sessions that will be taking place every Tuesday evening after the Summer Break from 22nd October 2019. These sessions are being held in the Newbiggin Village Hall (that is Newbiggin near Stainton) and start at 7.00pm sharp lasting for around 2 hours. These sessions are conducted in a relaxed manner allowing for questions and discussion by players on hands being played. . On hand are experienced players from the Penrith Bridge Club to assist you with play and to offer advice. Cost of the sessions is £2 per player per session. Beginners classes will be taking place on Monday evenings starting 4th November 2019 and continuing weekly until around 10 February 2020 with a break over the Chrstmas period. The classes are being held in the Newbiggin Village Hall (that is Newbiggin near Stainton) 7:30 to 9:30pm. The cost for the whole session of 12 classes is £42 per head. U3A Section |
Penrith U3A Bridge are a group belonging to the North Lakes U3A and play Bridge every Friday from 2.00pm at the Newbiggin Village Hall (Newbiggin near Stainton). Play is either,depending on numbers, Duplicate or Rubber Bridge with play continuing until 5.00pm with a break for Tea or Coffee and Biscuits normally half way into the play The Bridge is very social and relaxed and partnerships are not required as pairing takes place as players arrive. There is a charge of £2 per player and players are required to be members of North Lakes U3A although this requirement is waived for visitors or for taster visits. Finding a partner |
If you need a partner for one of the on-line bridge sessions first look at the Calendar entry for the appropriate date. If it says (Partner?) then someone else is already looking and you can click on (Partner?) to get their contact details. Otherwise you may make a request by clicking on 'Find a Partner' in the menu on the left. Sign in using your password then fill in the details choosing PR and say how you wish to be contacted - email or phone. If someone contacts you, don't forget to remove your request after arranging to play.
