On-Line Sessions |
BBO On-Line
We are continuing to play on-line on THURSDAYS, a proper movement with rounds of two or three boards Match Pointed against lots of opponents from Orpington Bridge Club and their friends. Master points and magazine points too.
It's a pairs competition, so you do need to log on with a partner: the bbo site makes it easy to meet up with them. "Undo" is not allowed for plays: best to switch on "confirm bids" in bbo account settings and don't be too hasty with your opening lead. The game is run strictly to a clock which shows on screen: please help your table to keep to schedule. Most players like a bit of chat.
Virtual table money is a real $3 so you will need bbo credit or a partner to pay for you.
All the usual bbo concepts apply. On bbo the player who makes a bid explains its agreed meaning. Only the opponents see this explanation. Please explain everything where you have an agreement. For example: 1 NT opening explain "12-14": 1NT rebid explain "15-17" or whatever you play. Stayman, transfers, Blackwood responses: explain them all, please. At the start of each round, chat to the table with your basic system like "Acol. 4cM. 12-14nt. 3 weak twos. Normal signals"
*The competition is restricted to people on a named list: for friends we need bbo names, real names and preferably EBU numbers in time for the system to recognise them. Providing these details is not a commitment to play, just an enabler. For more information on how to register and play On-line see the document in the menu - titled "On-line at Orpinton"
