-
MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
- Mel agreed to contact Dave Treharne regarding his co-option to the committee.
- The league of 8 matches had commenced with 2 divisions of six teams. Julia apologised for not contacting the EBU re the entry fee per team and would do as soon as possible.
- 4 December 2022 was agreed as the new date for the Mixed Pairs which would be incorporated into an open event to try and attract enough entries for a viable competition with the leading Mixed Pair being eligible for entry to the Midland County event.
- One pair had entered to date and Shirley was asked to send a communication to club secretaries to promote the event. Keith agreed to produce a poster for circulation. It was noted that the secretary of Nottingham BC had recently resigned and so communications were to be forwarded to the chairman. Contact details for the secretary of Retford BC were also needed and Roger would provide these. The hall hire would cost £80. Mel agreed to assist Keith with the setting up and taking down of tables and Shirley would assist with refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits that Keith would purchase and reclaim the cost) if there were a significant number of entries. A trophy would be sought for the winners of the ‘6’ High’ category.
- It was agreed to defer the appointment of an additional member of the selection committee until after the AGM.
-

Roger reported that the bank had updated their record to denote his role as treasurer including as a signatory and he could access online banking. Other signatories were still listed as:
I Auld, G Brindley, I Dovey and K Rogers - all of whom needed removing.
The new signatories were agreed as Keith Spencer and Julia Staniforth.
Roger requested that the account be amended to two to sign for any amendments to improve the security of the account, but payments could be operated by one of the signatories.
Flowers and a card had been sent to Graham Brindley who had now recently passed away. Funeral details were displayed on both the county and Nottingham BC websites.
-
LIAISON REGARDING DATES FOR CLUB EVENTS
The issue of a club event coinciding with a county match date had been raised by a member and that an email had been sent to other clubs in the county inviting players to take part. Mark explained that it had been difficult for the club to find another date due to the availability of caterers. It was agreed that every effort should be made to avoid clashes of dates and clubs could be informed directly of county events and clubs asked to provide dates for club events for inclusion on the county website. As this may be a single occurrence it was agreed to monitor the situation.
-
TRAINING OF A SECOND COUNTY TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR
Keith proposal that a second county TD be trained was agreed and that a course was expected to take place in the spring of 2023. Keith would send an email to all club directors currently listed and up to two applications would be funded subject to at least one county event being directed after successful completion of the course.
-
EMAIL ACCOUNT PASSWORD
It was agreed to change the password as this had been created by former committee members. Keith would circulate a new one.
-

- A communication had been sent out with proposals for reviewing EBU competitions, which was to be considered at an EBU Board meeting in September 2022, the draft minutes of which had not been posted on the website to date. It was noted that both the qualifying and final of the Garden Cities (winners of the league of 8s) would take place F2F. The Tollemache qualifier would be online but the national final F2F.
- An entry form for the 22/23 Tollemache had been received and Mark agreed to contact players to ascertain if a team was available as no team had been entered for the last 2 years due to a lack of players being able to compete at national level.
