The Australia-Wide Novice Pairs is a national event run by Australian Bridge Magazine, for players with fewer than 100 masterpoints, as of 31/3/2024. It is Australia's largest event in terms of entries. It is scored both locally  (for green masterpoints), and across the national field (for red masterpoints), with prizes and spot prizes totaling more than $3,000. Players not currently members of an ABF-affiliated club are welcome to enter.

All players receive a souvenir booklet of the hands, with the recommended bidding and items of interest from the play, and also a second personalised booklet, available online after the event, with travelling scoreslips and suggestions of how you could have scored better. You will also be eligible for a range of discounts on books and subscriptions from Australian Bridge (http://www.australianbridge.com/)
