Peer Group Competitions 2017/18 |
To provide some competitions for pairs that run over the whole year (until end of March) we have set up separate competitions for each evening of the week including Fridays from 2018 using the pairs data from every time that you play pairs on that day. The results are based on the best 8 scores over the whole season that you get with the same partner - with a requirement to play at least 8 times with the same partner. There are about 30 events a year that count so you could play with several partners and see who you get on with best!
This years there 3 competitions on each evening) - one for those whose National Grading Scheme (NGS) ranking is 10 or above on the date of the event, one for those whose ranking is 7 to 9 and one for pairs with a NGS ranking of 6 or below.
On Wednesday afternoons there is a competition [Banks Cup] for individual Members or Associate Members whose NGS rankings are 6 and below plus Visitors . Only results when you play with another eligible player will count! The results are based on your best 8 scores over the whole season. In the event that the winning player is part of a pair who are also the top pair on Wednedays, the Cup will be awarded jointly.
If members play regularly in events with a member who has a lower NGS ranking adjustments will be made to enable them to compete in the Peer Group competition that the higher ranked player is eligible for. Adjustments will also be made to exclude members of the A Team from the lower Peer Group events, should they become eligible.
