1  The Championship Pairs competition is an annual competition for members only for which the Amy Baker Salver (+shield) is awarded to the winning pair.
2  There will be one round on the first Thursday of every month. Each pair must have two identically completed convention cards.
3  The winning pair is the one with the highest aggregate of the best six qualifying rounds in which they compete. A tie will be determined in favour of the pair with the best single percentage score in any round - if still tied, then their second best scores etc.
4  This competition has been nominated, in accordance with EBU directives, as the club major championship and is therefore eligible for local points awarded at the "District" level (ie 150% of the normal) for all rounds.

1        The period of the competition is one calendar year and the competition is open only to members.
2        Each round is run as an ordinary duplicate evening, with a movement appropriate to the number of participants. The only difference is in the scoring.
3        The handicap for a player is based on their NGS percentage on 1^st January. The handicaps are listed in the Members Area by month and the initial January value is used throughout the year for The Challenge Cup.
4        A member without an NGS grade in January is given a notional NGS grade of 42 percent automatically by the website. This notional NGS grade is automatically applied whenever a member without an NGS starts playing in the competition throughout the year.
5        If a member gets their first NGS grade published on the website during the period of the competition then the competition details for the member are manually updated to use this value instead of the 42 percent.
6        A player's six best monthly scores will count towards the Challenge Cup final result. Please note there is a results “Non Qualifiers” tab which shows the results for members who have not met the threshold for being included in the competition.
7        A player's final score for this competition will be the average of their six best scores plus their individual handicap.
