| Southern Salver Sunday 19th April |
This went very well. Our thanks go to all those involved with its organisation and to those providing food for the tea which was delicious. Clare Reseigh catering, Ann McMahon directing, John Foster scoring, Yvonne Bell prizes and John Harland general organisation deserve a special mention. The Salver was won by Linda Madden with Eileen Barratt 2nd and Gary Reynolds 3rd. Nigel Jefferies was 4th, Ann McMahon 5th and John Foster 6th. Sue Gore was 7th, Yvonne Bell 8th, Janienne Meadmore was 9th and Eleanor Rice 10th. They all won prizes. Well done to them.

There will be bridge on every Thursday evening this year. The first week will be Pairs Championship, the third week Individual, the fourth week Teams. The fifth week when it occurs will be a Relaxed session.

Bridge is an absorbing and fascinating hobby, good for the brain and a great way of making new friends.
Dates and Times: we run training sessions
- 7:00 to 9:30pm, on Mondays at the Westridge Studio at Highclere (a 10 minute drive from the centre of Newbury). Free parking on the premises.
Tutors: Sallie Cheek / John Harland/ Brian Medhurst
Session Types:
- First Year Course - The course follows the syllabus of the English Bridge Union’s “Bridge for All” programme. The full course which will be at least 36 session over three terms. Will start later in 2025.
- Improver Classes – these sessions consolidate and then build on the topics covered in the first year course
