For the week 27th-31st July, St Georges Hall will not be available to the Bridge Club due to a prior commitment.

We will combine the improvers, beginners and rubber bridge sessions on Monday 27th July to take place at Westridge Studios, Highclere. One rubber session covering all three groups. 

If you have previously signed up, please can you log in again and sign up for the combined rubber session.

Tuesday evening session (28th July) will be carried out on-line on Real Bridge, again please can you sign up for the new session.

Thursday evening session (30th July) will be cancelled.

Congratulations to Charlotte Bedford, who with her partner Lucy Norman represented England as part of the women’s team who won the gold medal at the European National Team Championships last week in Latvia, more details in the attached.

Charlotte is also playing for the England Y21 team in the European Youth Championships in Latvia this week - they are currently lying 3^rd as of 14th July with 3 matches to play.  Come on England!

After many years of keeping our website up to date, Brian Medhurst has decided to hang up his mouse.  Huge thanks to Brian for all he has done over the years as our world has become increasingly digital and the website has become our most important communication tool. It’s not an easy job and Brian has done a great job keeping us informed and everything up to date.

We welcome Gus MacIVER as our new webmaster,  who is working with Brian to ensure a smooth handover. Thanks to Gus for taking on the challenge and if you have any feedback on the website please contact him on  newbury@bridgewebsemail.com.  

There will be bridge on every Thursday evening this year. The first week will be Pairs Championship, the third week Individual, the fourth week Teams. The fifth week when it occurs will be a Relaxed session.

These are still running so if you'd like to play Duplicate Bridge online you can sign up for them as for any other competition. Tuesday is at 2 pm and Saturday at 10 am. Cost is only £1 per session!

Session Types:

•  First Year Course - The course follows the syllabus of the English Bridge Union’s “Bridge for All” programme. The full course which will be at least 36 session over three terms.  New course starting in January 2027
• Improver Classes – these sessions consolidate and then build on the topics covered in the first year course
