R.I.P. Matthew Stratton |
We have just learned the sad news that Matthew Stratton a founder member of Newbury Bridge Club died in Hull on 13th April at the age of 98. Many of us will remember Matthew with affection and admiration. He played both duplicate and rubber bridge at the club for such a long time. He was chairman of the club from 1973 to 1976 and from 1983 to 1985 and president from 2009 to 2015. He was a real stalwart of the club and our commiserations go out to his family and friends. His family are planning to arrange a memorial service but as yet we have no details.
