Excellent Slam on Minimum Values |
Show Detail |
Surprisingly Mike and Joe were the only pair to get to this excellent slam in the B match v Wiltshire last weekend The opening 2D bid was a two way bid either showing a strong diamond hand or a weak hand with a single suited major. South bided his time before showing his strong diamond hand. After North introduced his spade suit, South rolled out key card Blackwood to reach the slam.
After the heart lead and ruff, the Q♠ was cashed. Now the diamonds were established with a little trump left in dummy to protect against the heart continuation and the slam was made.
