Here's what we know:

Auction will be as usual except we are adding at least 100 items, gift certificates, services...

The Auction will take place ONLINE through an online auction site to be revealed May 10, 2020.

June 20, 2020 is the official Longest Day of Bridge and we will host 8 x 12 board, 2-hour games from 6 AM to 10 PM.  Games will be $5 bucks each.  5 bucks, 5 bucks, 5 bucks... Players will be able to pre-register for x number of games.  Charitable receipts for 3 or more games.  Monterey will supply coffee and have food available.  I suggest we come at 6AM with our supply of coffee.  I can have non-sticky two biters available for $$donation of course.  In support for our fight against Alzheimers, please wear something PURPLE on this Longest Day of Bridge.  I know I know this is coinciding with the Penticton Regional but this is a great year to try this out and perfect it for the next 4 non leap years when Penticton Regional will NOT coincide with the Longest Day of Bridge.

Auction will end on June 20, 2020 at 10 PM. 

All Auction Items will have this same message at the bottom:

If you have successfully bid on an expert, mentor, teacher, you will receive further instructions Sunday June 21, 2020.  You are responsible for your expert's entry fee at your chosen club game.   If you book a lesson for 4 people, you pay the lesson in full and collect from the other players.
If you bid on a physical item and won your bid, this can be picked up after the last game at 10 PM on June 20th or at any game the following week at Monterey Bridge Club. We can also arrange drop off within the Greater Victoria Area. If you are from out of town, we will assess delivery fee at the time. Some items like gift certificates and vouchers can be emailed to you. 
To avoid all sorts of service fees and other charges, the following are ways to pay your donation amount: 
1. Log into http://joinbc.alzheimer.ca/goto/notconnectedyet and donate directly. I will receive an email notifying me and I will update the auction page. 
2. E-transfer the amount to me at benicha@gmail.com, I will forward it to Alzheimer Society BC. 
3. Write a cheque to Alzheimer Society BC and send it to Monterey Bridge Club, attention Nicole Dupuis 
4. Cash. 
I will forward all monies and the list of bidders with their mailing addresses to Alzheimer Society BC as soon as I can.  You should be receiving formal Tax Receipts within 35 days of my sending it in.  All monies owing should be paid up by Tuesday June 23rd, NOON.

In preparation for the auction, I have prepared a letter to potential donors.  Please print a copy and pass it on.  Let's get the donations happening.  We all know someone who could hook us up with certificates, vouchers, services or items.  The letter to donors is linked here:  dayofbridgelettertodonors2020.pdf  I expect the first year will be difficult to set up but once in place, it'll be a lot easier.
