Welcome to the Matlock Area U3A (MAU3A) Bridge Group. The aim of our group is to play competitive, social bridge in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
We play "Basic Acol" at an intermediate level and plan to meet at Matlock Town Football Club every Wednesday morning during 2019, apart from 15 May and 25 December, commencing at 9.15am, playing through to around 12.15pm. The cost is £2.00 per week (inclusive of tea or coffee and biscuits), payable on arrival.
As around fifty members attend each week, it is regretted that we cannot accept additional players. However, our Coordinator keeps a "Waiting List” and should be contacted for details. For more information about our group and MAU3A, please click here.
The annual "Frank Hemming Salver" was played for on July 10, followed by an excellent buffet lunch.
Some forty-four members took part, playing twenty-two boards. Competition was stiff, but congratulations are due to Jackie Jennings and Rhona Oakes who came out as worthy winners with a creditable score of 67.27%!
The Salver was presented by John Boadle, Founder Member and Bridge Tutor.
This is the second year that the competition has run, the Salver was kindly donated by Frank Hemming, Founder Member and first Chair of MAU3A.
