Our 3rd Quarter Final was played this week and what a ding dong battle ensued! Both pairs only managed 2 Game contracts, whilst 10 contracts were lost. On the last but one end our cup holders, Gosia & John, called a 3NT game and succeeded which gave them a 200pt advantage. Only a game on the last end would win the game for Martin & Larry and they called 4H. Larry masterfully got them over the line. Well done!

I understand Denise & Jeff have been unwell since Xmas with the coughing bug so we wish them well and await their re-emergence to play the last game.

D&J made a welcome return to the club this week and will play their game against the committee pair in the next 3 weeks. Thereafter we will draw the Semi-Final games. In the meantime we will be working on the new payment system, so expect e-mails from Larry at monthly intervals showing your balance on the club's books.

The next session of 'Bridge for Beginners' tuition and 'Improving your Play' coaching starts at 2:15pm on Thursday 24th September 2026 in Market Bosworth Community Library (MBCL).

♥ 12 lessons of 2 hours each for 'Beginners' over 12 weeks based on the English Bridge Union "Learn to play bridge in 24 hours".

♠ Tuition and coaching for 'Improvers' provided by EBU trained players.

♦ Price is £48 (£4 per session). All monies raised will be used to support your local community library (MBCL Charity No 1165437).
